Anora is called Ani by everyone. She doesn't have much in nowadays New York, and she earns her money with her beautiful, young body as an erotic dancer in a nightclub. Since she speaks a little Russian, one evening she meets Vanya, an oligarch's son, who is still very green behind the ears and simply wants to have fun. He pays her to accompany him exclusively for a week. Mama and Papa in Russia aren't happy and send their henchmen after them to force the separation. Ani, in particular, discovers entirely new, strong sides of herself in this tense situation. Since she has nothing to lose, she stands up to the crooks, and it's a joy to watch her.

Director Sean Baker loves to make characters who are otherwise often overlooked on the fringes of society the heroes of his films. He brings out the sparkle in these characters, making them shine in a special light, and Anora is a very special gem. Sean Baker has always remained true to himself as an author and is anything but Hollywood-friendly. So he is as much of an outsider as his characters. But that only makes the likeable filmmaker all the more endearing.

Now, ANORA has been honored with several Oscars, even Best Picture of the year and a ton of attention, which this wonderfully tragic and adorable funny film simply deserves! So come along in droves, show your respect, and experience an incredible time at the movies! It's worth it.

Im Nebel verschwindet Jena – die Stadt im Saaletal – bekanntlich schon des Öfteren einmal. Doch im aktuellen und letzten Kriminalfall der beliebten Reihe kann Nebel recht vieldeutig ausgelegt werden. Manchmal bezieht sich das Wort beispielsweise auf einen undurchsichtigen Zustand im Kopf. Nicht so bei Theresa Wolff. Die Gerichtsmedizinerin behält ganz klar den Durchblick, auch wenn wie immer erst einmal alles anders scheint, als es ist. Oder vielleicht doch nicht?

In einer Garagenkolonie wird die Leiche eines jungen Mannes gefunden. Alles deutet auf einen Drogentoten hin, der Dritte in kurzer Zeit. Eine neumodische Droge, ein Opiat namens Moon Shadow breitet sich aus, doch eigentlich soll davon niemand etwas wissen: Die Hintermänner werden gesucht. Und dann ist da noch der merkwürdige Erik, Freund des Toten, und die strenge Mutter. Und alle haben so ihre Geheimnisse.

Theresa Wolff fällt es mal wieder schwer Empathie zu empfinden und dennoch geht ihr der Tote nicht aus dem Sinn, solange dessen Geschichte nicht geklärt ist. Was wäre auch, wenn es diesen Fall nie gegeben und niemand je davon gehört hätte? Dann könnten wir auch nicht alle zusammen den Film auf der großen Leinwand im Arenarund genießen und Theresa Wolff und Kommissar Lewandowsky einen schönen Abschied ermöglichen! Und auch nicht die tollen Jena-Bilder erleben. Alles bloß Hypothese!
